On July 11, 2021, at 11:00 am, Cinema Paris will screen Ulrike Ottinger's new film PARIS CALLIGRAMMES.

"In her presentation at the French Institute, Ulrike Ottinger traces a path from her artist days in Paris in the 1960s to her creative phase as a filmmaker in West Berlin in the 1980s. The two cities attracted artists and intellectuals from around the world during their respective decades and were simultaneously marked by complex political upheavals: While Paris is the scene of student protests and decolonization processes, Berlin is still finding its identity between the occupation zones. At the French Institute, Ottinger's textile works, costumes, and films condense into a topography of the two cities that invites visitors on a foray through past and present."
